Miami 4-star WR commit Chance Robinson visiting Ohio State, and also Ole Miss this weekend

Ole Miss and Ohio State are continuing their pursuit of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star receiver and Miami commit Chance Robinson.

Robinson is set to take an official visit to Ohio State next weekend for the Buckeyes’ game vs. Michigan State, but before that he’ll make another trip. On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman has reported that Robinson will visit Ole Miss this weekend for the Rebels’ game against Texas A&M.

The 6-foot, 205-pounder has had a strong start to his senior season at STA, a Florida powerhouse.

“He’s had a great start to the season so far,” On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire told CaneSport last month. “I mean six games in he had 25 catches, 330 yards, seven touchdowns which lead the team in total touchdowns. He’s a great athlete. You see that on tape. He’s a 22-foot triple jumper, smooth and easy speed in the open field, but he’s got some twitch, too.

I think he’s done a good job stacking guys off the line of scrimmage, mixing up his releases, being able to get on top of corners and just creating space early in the route as opposed to being like, ‘Alright, I know I’m faster than this guy from a top-end perspective, so if they play off, I’m just going to run by him.’ He’s done such a good job in press coverage and being able to win with twitch, his foot speed and being able to win early in the route instead of just winning with pure athleticism.”

Robinson is part of an excellent wide receiver class at Miami

The versatile playmaker makes up a three-headed monster of commitments for the Hurricanes at the receiver spots, joining four-stars Joshisa Trader and Ny Carr in Miami’s class.

Robinson is the No. 125 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 22 wide receiver and the No. 17 recruit in the Sunshine State.

Each of Miami’s receiver commits rank among the top-25 at the position nationally and would give the Hurricanes a dynamic young receiver corps. Already filled out well for his size, Robinson could have a chance at early playing time in Coral Gables if he ends up signing with the ‘Canes.

“With Robinson, I think it’s about what they want to try to develop him to become. Do they want him to be a true X receiver that runs every route on the route tree sort of like Ja’Marr Chase, or do they want him to become more of a Swiss Army Knife offensive weapon like Deebo Samuel and use him in the run game and quick game and you scheme him to have success?”
