Miami Hurricanes Women’s Soccer: Miami Ties FAU in Home Opener

The Miami Hurricanes soccer team played there home opener at Cobb Stadium. The team played a 1-1 draw against FAU Sunday evening.

Miami opened the scoring on Sunday off an Owls’ turnover in the 37th minute. The response was quick, however. As the end of the first half drew near, a cross into the six-yard box by Michelle Horan deflected into the path of Noa Olivia Ganthier. The junior poked it home past UM keeper.

The Hurricanes earned four corner kicks in the second frame and took three shots on net, but couldn’t find a game-winner.

Goalkeeper Melissa Dagenais kept the Owls quiet in the second half, as the graduate student finished with four saves on the night.

Up next, Miami welcomes rival Florida to Cobb Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Thursday
