2024 4-star forward Isaiah Johnson-Arigu officially signs with Miami

Isaiah Johnson-Arigu is a Miami Hurricane — officially. The four-star forward put pen to paper to open the early signing period on Wednesday.

Johnson is the first pledge to sign with Miami in its 2024 recruiting class, with five-star guard Jalil Bethea also set to join the fold this afternoon.

The University of Miami has already announced Johnson’s addition, listing the newest Hurricane at 6-7, 200 pounds.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Isaiah Johnson-Arigu ranks as the No. 106 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 36 small forward and the No. 2 player in Minnesota. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s evaluators are higher on him, ranking him 91st nationally.

Johnson on his commitment to Miami

Isaiah Johnson-Arigu spoke to On3 about his decision to choose Miami.

“I chose Miami because it has all the things necessary to get me to the next level,” he said. “Good facilities, NBA style offense, supportive coaching staff, and teammates who all share the same goal as me.”

In his own words, what type of player are the ‘Canes getting in Johnson?

“I would describe my game as a 3-level scorer who also takes pride on the defensive end. Very similar and borderline identical to Jordan Miller, a forward who just came out of Miami.”

Johnson has a message for the fans of Miami.

“A message I have for Miami fans is that they’re getting a very versatile guy and someone who competes everyday. With this recruiting class they’re bringing in, we have a good shot to win the whole thing in the next couple years. Go Canes.”

Scouting Report

“It’s the know-how with Isaiah Johnson-Arigu that you immediately notice. He seems to always been in the right place and poised to make a positive play. Standing in the 6-6 range, he uses his near 7-0 wing span to play up a lineup. Offensively, he has good touch which he uses to finish around the basket and in the mid range. He also has good court vision and processing ability. Able to line up from multiple levels, run some offense through and make reads to get players opportunities. The athleticism is a question, is a tweener forward type, will have to answer where does he guard. You like the versatility and the production.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
