3 Miami players to watch against Florida

No. 19 Miami will hit the road this weekend to face unranked rival the Florida Gators in Gainesville.

Mario Cristobal and his team will enter a game as the slight favorite for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon.

These are the three players who could help Miami get into a winning situation on the road in the fourth quarter this weekend.

Stopping a clear No. 1 wide receiver

The Miami Hurricanes cornerbacks got to stop Eugene Wilson III if the Hurricanes defense wants to stop their passing game and make them rely on their run game.

Wilson III, electrified crowds in The Swamp in 2023, grabbing 61 passes, six of them for touchdowns.

Damien Martinez

With the Gator’s defensive pass rush being one the worst in the country Miami running back Damien Martinez could have a big-time game against the Gators and is a player to watch.

In his first year of college, Damien had an outstanding season, scoring 982 yards and seven touchdowns in the game. The following year, as a sophomore, he stepped up his game, amassing 1,185 yards and nine touchdowns. This achievement placed him in the top 24 nationally. He also contributed to the team’s passing game, securing 11 catches for extra 126 yards.

Isaiah Horton

Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Isaiah Horton is looking to fill the shoes of Colbie Young who entered the portal and went to the Georgia Bulldogs and he could have a big-time game tomorrow when the Canes kickoff at 3:30.

In his freshman year, he saw action in four games during his debut season Caught one pass and made his Miami debut in a win at Virginia Tech (Oct. 15), catching a 6-yard pass.

In the offseason of last season, Isaiah Horton worked on his craft and ended up starting all 13 games of the season last year for the Miami Hurricanes.

Game 1 is in the Swamp. Miami needs a full arsenal ready to walk into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and overwhelm the Florida Gators.
