3-star DL Donta Simpson flips commitment from Maryland to Miami

BANG! The Canes are keeping the guys home as Chaminade Madonna defensive lineman Donta Simpson has flipped his commitment to Miami as he was committed to Maryland on Friday afternoon.

Donta was just at Miami’s cookout this past weekend and the Hurricanes offered him and that is what he was waiting on as he committed days after.

He is a three-star defneisve tackle according to 247Sports, he is also the No. 122 defensive lineman in the class to go along for being the No. 766 overall player in the class of 2025.

Last season, Simpson tallied 43 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.

Simpsion committed to Miami over the likes of Coastal Carolina, FIU, Illinois, Liberty, Minnesota, North Carolina State, SMU, Temple, Tulane and Western Michigan.
