4-star 2026 QB Dereon Coleman commits to Miami

One of Miami’s top quarterback targets is off the board in the Hurricanes favour.

On Tuesday afternoon, four-star Dereon Coleman announced his commitment to Miami. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound product of Orlando, (FL) Jones high school was at Miami’s 7v7 camp a couple weeks back and the Hurricanes coaching staff like what they saw and offered him a scholarship not so long he made his pledge to Miami.

Dereon ranks as a four-star and the No. 300 prospect in the country he is also the No. 21 player in his position and the No. 55 player in the Sunshine state.

Coleman committed to the Canes over the following: Oklahoma, Arkansas, UCF, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and more.

Coleman led his high school team to a double digit win season after putting up 2,236 yards, completing 63.4% of his passes, with 16 TDs, and 6 INTs. Coleman offers a ton of upside with an electric arm and quick release. He added 247 yards on the ground with 4 TDs.

Coleman can show the ability to be an effective touch passer, making his passing game well rounded.

We talked to Coleman a couple weeks back after he received a offer from Miami and here is what he had to say:

“1st impression was finally!! The U is a brotherhood. Today I was feeling really good. I just got the ball to my playmakers. It was a good day as a unit. Shout out to our defense as well. They made some big steps to get us the ball back on offense. A great squad championship”

Miami now has three commitments in the class of 2026 with that being the latest pledge Doreen Coleman along with wide receiver Malachi Toney and linebacker Jordan Campbell.

Welcome him to Miami down below.
