4-star defensive lineman LJ McCray released his final five which has the Hurricanes in it
The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder four-star is ready to trim his list to five schools including the Hurricanes. He has taken official visits to Miami, Auburn, Florida and Georgia this month.
LJ McCray plays high school football for Mainland High School in Dayton Beach Florida,. the four-star is ranked as the No. 107 recruit in the class of 2024,. The 6-foot-6, 260 pound defensive lineman has excellent size and is the No. 15 player at his position additionally, McCray is ranked as the No. 17 recruit in the sunshine state.
According to the On3 recruiting prediction machine, Florida is in the lead to get a verbal commit with a 32.6 percent to land him, Florida State is 20.5 percent, Auburn is 14.1 percent, and Miami is at a low 8.9 percent to get a commitment from the four-star defensive lineman.
At Mainland High School he had a total of 47 tackles (17.5 for loss) and 3 sacks on defense while catching 14 catches for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball McCray is a two way player but at the college level he wants to play defensive end.
