4-star OT Canon Pickett reacts to Miami’s win over FAMU; Talks relationship with Mario Cristobal

2026 inside offensive lineman Canon Pickett playing for the Wharton Wildcats out of (Tampa, FL) told CanesToday that his visit to Miami over the past weekend versus the FAMU game went well, and he noticed his family member Booker Pickett Jr. got his first tackle as a Hurricane.

Here is what Canon had top say about how the game went, and even showed some love to the atmosphere.

“It was fun to see the Canes dominate, and the crowd was pretty loud and a couple of them noticed me which was cool. And it was great seeing Booker get the tackle,”

Canon also has a great relationship with coach Cristobal and the Hurricanes staff. Coach Mario makes him feel like a top priority in the 2026 class.

“Cristobal is my dog! he’s definitely made me feel like a priority” said Pickett.

However, Canon told me there is no leader in his recruitment as of right now, as everybody is recruiting him very well.

According to the On3 industry rankings Pickett is ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 325th overall prospect, 29th interior offensive lineman, and 57th recruit from Florida for the 2026 season.

In terms of his recruitment prospects, Pickett has received over 20 scholarship offers.

At the moment, On3 has Miami landing Canon with Steve Wiltfong making an expert prediction for him to land at the Canes.
