Ahkeem Mesidor will be watched closely by NFL Draft scouts this season

Miami redshirt junior Akheem Mesidor returned for another year to develop as a player and bolster his game before going to the NFL. The edge will be a player that the scouting community will be watching closely over the next year.

Mesidor (6-3, 275) has not played since sustaining an injury against Texas A&M in week two last year.

He will technically have two more years of college eligibility remaining.

The veteran defensive lineman has played 45 defensive snaps in 2023, totaling five tackles and one sack. He has generated one pressure this season.

Akheem Mesidor was a three-star recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He started his career at West Virginia before transferring to Miami ahead of the 2022 season. That was a very productive season for Mesidor. In just 11 games, he matched his career high in tackles with 38. He also set career highs in tackles for loss and sacks, with 10.5 and 7.0 respectively.

Do not be surprised if you see Akheem Mesidor climb up draft boards as this season progresses.
