Blend of experience, youth will give Miami solid foundation at RB

offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson is quickly emerging as one of the top offensive play-callers in college football.

Miami Hurricanes will have everyone back from last season besides Donald Chaney Jr. which he transferred to the Louisville Cardinals, but Miami still has a solid RB room.

The Room

— Mark Fletcher (6-2, 225, Sophomore.): 105 season carries, 514 rushing yards, 5-rushing touchdowns and averaged 5 yards per play.

— Henry Parrish (5-10, 190, Senior.): 100 season carries, 625 rushing yards, 6-rusing touchdowns and averaged 6.3-yards per play.

— Ajay Allen (5-11, 186, Sophomore.) 70 season carries, 361 rushing yards, 5-rushing touchdown and averaged 5.2 yards per play.

— TreVonte’ Citizen (6-1, 220, RFr.)

Henry Parrish gives the RB room another experienced playmaker

We will talk about sophomore Mark Fletcher a ton this offseason. The sophomore should get some All-American buzz heading into 2023. At running back.

Miami still has a third experienced playmaker at a needed position.

Parrish solidified himself as the starter starting the season but mid-season, he ended up having an injury sending him back in the depth chart to No. 3 in the RB group, but still made a big impacted in the Hurricane’s running game with him racking up 625-yards on 100 carries. He averaged 6.3-yards per carry, and his longest rush was 37 yards for 6-touchdowns.

Miami a has succession plan with young blue-chip talent

Henry Parrish and Mark Fletcher mixed in with Ajay Allen are the proven starters on the roster, but there is some very good young talent in the room. Thanks to a strong recruiting effort in the 2024 cycle, Shannon Dawson has a clear succession plan at running back.

Jordan Lyle is a top-150 recruiting win out of STA. The four-star recruit racked up 113 attempts, 1,259 yards, an 11.1 average, and 20 touchdowns. Lyle is also responsible for 12 receptions, 157 yards, and an 11.2 average, in his high school season

Miami has their leader in the room with Parrish, but their numerous young players that could emerge as the next start on the edge.

Expect some creativity

In 2023, Miami’s spread offense included a legit running game Miami would have three running backs that played in a the games all of those players were Parrish, Fletcher and Allen.

Don’t be surprised if this look returns in 2023 heck if Citizen can get healthy might as well put him in that rotation.
