There is a famous Lil Wayne lyric that would encapsulate the recruitment of A.J. Staton-McCray perfectly. “Real G’s move in silence like lasagna.”
WOOOO! The Hurricanes just got another commit with Stamford Bulldogs transfer A.J. Staron-McCray signing with Miami.
Staton-McCray is a 6’5″, 195-pound junior guard that’s played 62 games over the last two seasons at Samford. Last season, he averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds in just 21 minutes per game. Staton-McCray shot 44.2% from the field and 41.3% from 3-point range.
Stanton-McCray is a name that might sound familiar as he was involved in a controversial call in the just concluded NCAA Tournament. In Samford’s 1st round game against Kansas, he made what appeared to be a clean blocked shot but the referee called a foul, which aided Kansas.
Welcome to Miami!
