Cam Ward Looking Like That Savioring QB Miami Needs

Miami just had their first practice of 15 spring practices today and Miami quarterback Cam Ward is looking apart.

Mario Cristobal said Cam Ward is “unbelievable” When coach Cristobal talked to the media this yesterday afternoon.

Ward is very good QB and will be better than anyone Mario Cristobal has had in Coral Gables, but turns the ball over a bit and I think Miami needs a lot more than just average QB play. He’d need to be special

Miami’s offense had high expectations in 2023 despite having some major questions along the wide receiver. However, that ended up not being the unit’s biggest weakness on the field. Surprisingly, the passing game and a lack of efficiency are what held Shannon Dawson‘s unit back.

What helps spread things out on offense? Having a quarterback that can use his legs both in the scripted and unscripted run game. Washington State transfer Cam Ward can check that box for Miami.

Regardless of what new spread looks that Miami will try to utilize, this offense still needs a quarterback who can make quick reads and get the ball out on time. Playing with correct timing is essential in this pro-style scheme that has a ton of moving parts. Cam Ward will have to prove that he has the accuracy long-term to efficiently run the offense but this is a quarterback that has been well-coached and looks comfortable making reads.

Here are his highlights from spring practice 1 from Ward:
