The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is awarded each year to the top college quarterback in the United States and is recognized as the oldest and most esteemed national quarterback accolade. The 48th Annual Davey O’Brien Awards Dinner, which will celebrate the recipient, is scheduled for Monday, February 17, 2025, at The Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth, Texas. This year’s list was curated by a segment of the Davey O’Brien National Selection Committee, taking into account past performance in Division I as well as anticipated achievements for the upcoming 2024 college football season.

Last season, he completed 66.6% of his passes for 3,735 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also added eight scores on the ground.

Ward has received preseason recognition for the fifth time.
