Can Miami Make Serious Ground On Elijah Griffen After His Official Visit This Week?

CanesToday has learned that five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffen out of Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep will visit Miami for an official this weekend.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound defensive tackle a consensus five-star prospect in the cycle, he is a consensus top-10 recruit in the nation by the four major recruiting services. In fact, he ranks as high as the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to On3, behind only Belleville (Mich.) HS quarterback Bryce Underwood.

There’s a reason he is so highly regarded in the class. During his junior campaign for Savannah Christian Prep, he was consistently in the backfield, amassing 97 total tackles, a whopping 31.0 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks. He helped the Raiders go 12-3 during the 2023 season, including a berth in the Georgia Class 3A Championship, ultimately falling 49-28 to Cedar Grove.

So now the question is can Miami make up ground to get caught up with Georgia In his recruitment?

Simply put yes, the Hurricanes are getting him back on campus for an official visit and they have a chance to pull away from the rest and get caught up with Georgia as UGA is leading his recruitment as we speak. But getting him on campus is such a great sign, and Jason Taylor is taking the lead roll in his recruitment so I would never count out Taylor.
