Canes Today: Beat the Seminoles

It’s about time to pack up and head to that nasty Tallahassee city, Miami hitting the road to face in-state rival the Florida State Seminoles n the team’s last game of the regular season.

And like last time around when Miami played the Seminoles, this one will be another tough test in this matchup

What do we need to know about the Seminoles?

What do you need to know about the Seminoles? Well, CT got you covered.

Florida State is among the best teams in the ACC at getting to the free-throw line. It has the third-most attempts behind Louisville and North Carolina, and it starts with its leading scorer, Jamir Watkins. He averages 14.8 points (16.3 in conference play) and is second in the ACC in free-throws made (118).

The Seminoles also force the most turnovers per game in the ACC (15.2). Watkins and Darin Green Jr. are top 10 in steals in the conference. Miami must take care of the basketball and avoid sending Florida State to the free-throw line to limit the Seminoles’ scoring opportunities.

Miami WBB advances in ACC tournament

On Thursday afternoon in their ACC Tournament opener, the Hurricanes did it again.

Ninth-seeded Miami, keyed by 10-0 fourth-quarter run, overcame an early double-digit deficit to clinch a 60-59 win over eight-seeded North Carolina in the tournament opener for both teams.

With the win, the Hurricanes (19-11) advance to Friday’s tournament quarterfinals where they will face top-seeded Virginia Tech (23-6).

Miami’ simple mistakes vs. Boston College snowball into avalanche of hurt

The transition from a great defensive possession to an unforgivable mistake — especially for a experienced team — can be so quick at the highest level that its impact isn’t felt in real time.

And for the five Hurricanes that were on the floor with 10 minutes, they didn’t recognize what had just transpired either.

Miami only gave up 67 points against the Eagles, but the Hurricanes offense in transition is absoulty pitfuland hard to watch you see Miami get a rebound and push the ball hoping to score for just losing the ball or turning it over.

A big factor was Miami missing simple shots we saw Miami taking baby shots in the paint and they were perfect opportunity to get back into the game after the Hurricanes fell back by 10 and we just miss the shots, then we saw Matthew Cleveland go coast to coast to just miss a layup, it is just the easy stuff man.

Miami ended up scoring 22/65 of their baskets 28 of those points were in the paint which is not all so bad but that mainly came from big man Norchad Omier.
