Canes Today: Preparing for Boston College, recapping First Day of Spring Ball

Good morning, folks. Happy Tuesday, what a way to start off the weekend. Yesterday, the Canes football team took the field on Greentree for the first of 15 of spring practices, now, tomorrow the Miami basketball team will look to close their seven game losing skid against the Boston College Eagles when they play at home for the last time.

So, enough talking let’s start with the Spring Practice Recap. Then work are way to tomorrow game.

Cam Ward Looking Like He Is That Guy

Despite, not having pads on and not having defense out there Cam Ward looked all of his best out there.

Mario Cristobal said Cam Ward is “unbelievable” When coach Cristobal talked to the media this yesterday afternoon.

Miami’s offense had high expectations in 2023 despite having some major questions along the wide receiver. However, that ended up not being the unit’s biggest weakness on the field. Surprisingly, the passing game and a lack of efficiency are what held Shannon Dawson‘s unit back.

What helps spread things out on offense? Having a quarterback that can use his legs both in the scripted and unscripted run game. Washington State transfer Cam Ward can check that box for Miami.

Cam Ward will have to prove that he has the accuracy long-term to efficiently run the offense but this is a quarterback that has been well-coached and looks comfortable making reads.

A first look at the Eagles

Boston College is 1-6 against Quad 1 opponents. Their 1 victory was an 86-80 win over St. John’s on a neutral court. The Golden Eagles are 1-3 in Quad 2 games. Their lone Quad 2 win was against Richmond at home, defeating the Spiders 68-61. BC also has two Quad 3 losses on their record. One of those was against NC State at home (78-84 in OT) and the other was against FSU at home (62-63).

Don’t sleep on Boston College though. Offensively, they are formidable. They rank 4th in the ACC in Field Goal Percentage (46.7%) and 5th in Three-Point Percentage (36.6%).

Miami WBB Drops OT Loss to Georgia Tech

Cam Ward is in the Game

Miami’s projected QB1 will be in college football’s first video game since 2013.

Pretty soon college football fans will be able to play with the Miami Hurricanes in the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

“I’m in the game #CFB25,” Ward wrote in a caption on his latest Instagram post.

Ward, a senior quarterback transfer from the University of Washington State, is the first Miami Hurricane player to announce that he will be in the upcoming video game.
