CanesToday Talk: Beat NC State

Good morning, Hurricane’s nation. It was a exciting weekend for the Miami Football team, the ‘Canes won the game 29-26 against the Cavaliers this past Saturday.

But, it is a new week, one that culminates with another must-win game. This one takes place at NC State. The Canes sit at 6-2 (2-2 ACC), ater that win against Virginia Miami will make a bowl game this year. The Wolfpack are 5-3, 2-2 in the ACC seeking to e bowl elidge if they beat the Hurricanes, they are coming off a 24-17 win against Clemson. Now, NC State is not a great football team, but Miami always seems to have that one bad game that we should win, and I think this is it. But lets up the team can prove me wrong.

NC State Game Week Is Here

Even though Miami has to play at Carter Finley Stadium, Las Vegas still likes Miami’s chances to beat NC State this week in Raleigh. According to Fanduel, Miami opened as a 4.5-point favorite over the Wolfpack.

Miami is 4-4 against the spread this season, showing that oddsmakers have had Miami pretty well pegged most of the season. The ‘Canes did not cover the +19.0 spread against Virginia on Saturday.

This marks the second time this season Miami will be a road favorite, having earned that honor against Temple in a game where they covered a 24-point spread.

When it comes to point total, the over-under in this week’s game against NC State is set at 44.5.

NC State enters the game with a 5-3 overall record and 2-5 against the spread. They are coming off a 24-17 win to Clemson.

The ‘Canes and ‘Wolfpack will do battle under the lights in Raleigh, North Carolina at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catch the game on the ACC Network and gamble responsibly, friends.

Miami Basketball Prepares For The Season

In case you were completely off the grid this weekend, the Miami Basketball team did get its first win of the preseason, beating TCNJ 111-54 night at Watsco Center. The Canes played great, but, as most of the freshmen showed some nerves, but veterans Nijel Pack and Norchad Omier carried the load.

But as these exhibitions usually go, the better and more talented team ultimately came away with the victory. Miami wound up winning by a final score of 111-54, outscoring TCNJ by 57 points in the second half. The Hurricanes will now play on Monday, Nov. 6 against NJIT that will be an actual season game to start the 2023-24 season.

Miami finished the night shooting 48.6 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from distance, and 80 percent from the free throw line. The ‘Canes outrebounded TCNJ by 14 and finished with six fewer turnovers.

The veterans led the way for Miami against TCNJ. Norchad Omier was the team’s leading scorer with 23 points to go along with 12 rebounds, and two assists. He was aided by Nwoko, who chipped in 16 points on 6-9 shooting. Pack was next up in scoring with 13 points and seven assists.

The first half was pretty for the Hurricanes. Miami shot 56.8 percent from the field and connected on just 7-16 three-point attempts. Miami did have more turnovers than TCNJ with Miami having six first-half turnovers. A positive I can pull from the first half was Miami’s rebounding in the first half, Miami outrebounded TCNJ 30-to-13.

Miami began to pull away once they tipoff in the second half. Miami will host NJIT for there season opener game Nov. 6th on ACCN
