Rangers takes Game Three From The Panthers In OT 5-to-4

The Florida Panthers were back on home ice after splitting a 1-to-1 tie at Madison Square Garden, the Panthers were looking for some revenge after the Rangers took game two with a overtime goal for the win, however the Panthers fell just short to the Rangers with losing in overtime 5-to-4.

Lets recap this game.

First Period

Within just two minutes in the first period the Panthers went on the power play with Braden Schneider going to the box, moments later the Panthers would find themselves up 1-0 with Sam Reinhart finding the goal to make the Cats go up early and capitalise on the power play.

At about 12:45 remaining in the first the Rangers would knot the game at one on a goal by Alexis Lafreniere.

Then legit a couple of seconds later Rangers would waste no time and jump ahead 2-1. Couldn’t quite make out the scorer there.

It was a wild two minutes with the Panthers going on the power play after the two massive goals by the Rangers, however the Panthers would not find anything on the power play and that led to a kill by the Rangers.

The Panthers would score on another power play with Sam Reinahrt finding the net for the second time of the day to make the game tied at two with 5:00 remanning.

With that goal by Reinhart that made him the 34th player with 64 goals in a season.

The Panthers looked like the more aggressive team for most of the first period.

At the end of the first period the game was tied at two.

Second Period

The second period started out very quiet, the Panthers had seven shots on goal compared to the Rangers zero when the Rangers would go on the power play cause of a inference penally that got called on the Cats but the Panthers ended up killing the power play at 11:48.

Sam Bennett got moved up to the second line center in the second period.

At 9:23 left in the second Barkov went to the box for high sticking but the Panthers killed yet another power play of the Rangers.

After that kill by the Panthers the Rangers is now 0/8 on the power play in this series and 1-for-18 since game 3 against the Hurricanes.

However, the Rangers would find themselves go up 3-to-2 at the end of the second period after a crazy and very impressive goal by Lafreniere finding the goal again against the Panthers defense.

Panthers went back on the power play with two and a half minutes to go in the second on the delayed call, Evan Rodrigues got hit In the head, should of been a major penalty but that was not called instead Trouba gets two minor penalties.

With the four-minute power play for the Panthers the Cats would not capitalise on the power play instead the Rangers would score on a short-handed goal to make the game 4-2 with 1:46 left.

The 2nd period would end with the Panthers down 4-to-2.

Third Period

Then Panthers really needed anything to go their way in the their period the Cats were more of an aggressive team in the first but not the second. And with Aleksander Barkov finding the net at 14:56 left in the third was a way to start.

The Cats had the Rangers within one and the Panthers were alive.

the Panthers would keep things rolling with Gustav Forslingn timing the game up at four with 13:02 left.

The place was going crazy and the Panthers were dominating the Rangers.

The Rangers went on a huge power power play which suppose to be on Barkov getting called for a double-minor high stick but it ended up coming off of the board and the Cats were back in business.

At 5:37 the Panthers would go on a power play with Trouba getting called for tripping. The Rangers would eventually kill the power play.

Igor was really holding on tight and letting nothing past him.

The Panthers had 100 scoring chances just to 30 of Rangers if we are being honest the gam should not of been tied after all.

The Panthers and the Rangers would be going into overtime after a impressive comeback by the Panthers.

However, the Rangers would win it in overtime with for the second game in a row 5-4.

It was another sold out crowd with the attendance being at 19,783.
