After some what you can call them “tune-up games” the season being here at night today for the Miami Football team. The Hurricanes open ACC play at home in just 10 hours, 8 p.m. local time in Miami Gardens. Miami met the Yellow Jackets last year at Bobby Dodd Stadium and that is were Miami took care of business’ 35-to-14.

rior to the bye week, Miami (4-0) got off to a fast start during the first month of the season as UM earned fairly comfortable double digit wins over each of their four opponents: Miami of Ohio, Texas A&M, Bethune-Cookman, and Temple.

UM enters this week ranked top 11 in the country in both offense and defense, averaging 42 points per game while allowing 12.5 points per game. The Hurricanes currently claim the number one run defense in the country, allowing only 48 yards per game on the ground.

Now Miami will turn its attention to conference play, beginning with Georgia Tech, as the Hurricanes play eight ACC games in eight weeks.

Georgia Tech (2-3, 1-1) is coming off an ugly 38-27 loss to Bowling Green. The Yellow Jackets raced out to a 14-0 lead, but the Falcons responded with 38 unanswered points to earn a victory in Atlanta. The other two losses for the Yellow Jackets came against Louisville in the season opener and Ole Miss in mid-September.
