CT GAMEDAY: Miami takes on UNC in Primetime, first true road test for the Hurricanes

It’s finally here. When the schedule was released, The Hurricanes lived up to their end of the bargain besides the Georgia Tech messy loss. However, now they face their biggest test to date as the No. 12 North Carolina will play Miami at Kenan Memorial Stadium, at 7:30 P.M. EST, on ABC.

Miami has lost four straight to the Tar Heels. The last time the Hurricanes earned a victory in Chapel Hill was in 2017.

In last year’s match-up, North Carolina raced out to a 14-0 lead and held on for a 27-24 win over UM.

The Tar Heels offense is averaging 36.6 points per game, which ranks No. 18 overall in the country. The defense has allowed 19 points per game, which ranks 30th.

UNC is led by ultra talented quarterback Drake Maye, who projects as a top five pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Maye has thrown for 1,629 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 174 yards and four touchdowns. He is coming off a performance against Syracuse in which he threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns.

Miami is looking to regain its form after a disappointing performance against Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes rank No. 13 nationally in scoring offense at 39 points per game and No. 12 in the country in scoring defense at 14.6 points per game.
