On Friday afternoon, the Boston College Eagles football team hosts the Miami Hurricanes for the final match-up of the 2023 regular season. Both teams come into this game at 6-5, having already secured a bowl game and now are just playing for bragging rights over each other and perhaps a better bowl berth.

Who: Boston College Eagles (6-5) vs Miami Hurricanes (6-5)

Where: Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA

When: Friday November 24th

Kickoff Time: 12pm ET

How to Watch: This game will be broadcasted live on ABC

BC is limping to the goal line here, coming off of two straight losses to Virginia Tech and Pitt after they had put together a five-game win streak. The Eagles played well enough to defeat some subpar competition during the streak and rack up a few ACC wins, but their luck caught up to them and the defense especially has looked lousy after losing some key playmakers like Elijah Jones. Miami, meanwhile, is on a losing streak of their own. The Hurricanes have dropped three-straight games to NC State, FSU, and Louisville, although to be fair, two of those three teams are in the national top-10.

After some mid-season struggles, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke had a bounce back performance last Saturday against Louisville, throwing for 327 yards and one touchdown while completing 61 percent of his attempts. On the season, Van Dyke has thrown for 2,413 yards with 17 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

UM’s passing offense is averaging 262 yards per game, which ranks No. 39 overall in the country. The Hurricanes rank No. 49 nationally in team passing efficiency. Miami is allowing 1.27 sacks per game, which ranks No. 21 nationally.

Slot receiver Xavier Restrepo leads the Hurricanes with 876 yards and five touchdowns on 68 receptions. Outside receiver Jacolby George has taken a big step forward in 2023, catching 49 passes for 762 yards and seven touchdown. Colbie Young has caught 44 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns.

Pro Football Focus grades Miami’s pass blocking efforts as the 12the best in the country.

Boston College is allowing 189 passing yards per game, which ranks 22nd best in the country. From a pass defense efficiency standpoint, however, the Eagles rank No. 105 overall in the country and worst in the ACC.

The Eagles have averaged only 1.09 sacks per game, which ranks 126th in the country.

On the back end, Boston College will be without top cornerback Elijah Jones, who is done for the season with an injury. Amari Jackson has allowed 419 receiving yards and two touchdowns on the season. Jalen Cheek has allowed four touchdowns on the year.

Donovan Ezeiruaku is the top pass rusher for Boston College, generating 24 pressures and two sacks on the year.
