ESPN has selected Jalil Bethea as a lottery pick for the 2025 NBA Draft.

The value of Archbishop Wood’s boys basketball team guard, Jalil Bethea, continues to increase. According to ESPN analyst Jonathan Givony, Bethea is projected to be the 4th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. This suggests that he may consider leaving the University of Miami after just one season in order to pursue a professional career.

Bethea, who was named a McDonald’s All-American selection earlier this year, led Archbishop Wood to the Class 6A state tournament semifinals, averaging 23.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game through 27 contests.

Born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, Bethea arrives at the University of Miami with a prestigious background from his time at Archbishop Wood Catholic High School. His addition to the Hurricanes’ roster marks their most highly-rated recruit since current NBA player Lonnie Walker IV joined the team. Known for his exceptional shooting, passing, and developing defensive skills, Bethea is highly regarded as a top prospect who is poised to enter the professional league in the near future.

Depending on how he does at Miami his draft stock could definitely rise.
