FINAL: Hurricanes get’s stunned by the Louisville Cardinals 80-71

Miami could never slam its foot fully on the gas against Louisville, so the end result is that Louisville figured out a way to win, when the Canes could not pull away.

On Wednesday night in Watsco Center, the Hurricanes (11-4; 2-2 ACC) layed an egg (6-9; 1-3 ACC) by a final score of 80-71. Miami showcased moments of brilliance, particularly early in the first half, but a scrappy Louisville squad kept pace for most of the night.

However, Miami was fueled by three double-digit scorers, led by 22 from Matthew Cleveland. Veteran Wooga Poplar also reached 18 points to go along with 4 rebounds. Ceneter Norchad Omier added 9 points while veteran guard Bensley Joesph went for 8 more. Kyshawn George also added seven points.

As a team, Miami shot 39 percent from the field, 11/34 (32 percent) from beyond the arc, and 8/15 (53 percent) from the free throw line.

This is a very disappointing and embarrassing loss hopefully Larranaga can get this team back on track.
