Florida gets Montrell Johnson back at tail back after an injury

The Florida Gators released their official depth chart today and the media got some news that star running back for the Florida Gators will be starting week one versus Miami this weekend.

In Miami, this isn’t positive, but for the Gators, it’s a different story. Nonetheless, the Canes’ defensive line is exceptionally strong and could halt any opponent from the country if necessary.

It was reported earlier in the fall that Montrell suffered a knee injury and is now ready to play week one.

He led the team in rushing yards (817) for the second straight season, averaged 5.4 yards per carry and 68.0 yards per game, and scored six touchdowns (five rushing and one receiving).

Behind Johnson is sophomore Treyaun Webb, who averaged 6.3 yards per carry on 26 attempts as Florida’s third running back in 2023.
