Haley Cavinder announces commitment to TCU after one-year with Miami

Former Miami point guard and NIL star Haley Cavinder announced her transfer portal commitment, making the decision to transfer to TCU.

Cavinder entered the transfer portal in October, making the decision to re-enter the college basketball world after making a very public decision to leave college basketball and forgo her remaining year of eligibility on the Today show next to her sister, Hanna.

Cavinder spent the first three years of her collegiate career at Fresno State, averaging 18.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Following the 2021-2022 season, Haley and her twin sister Hanna, who also starred for the Bulldogs, announced their intentions to transfer to the University of Miami. Haley played an average of six fewer minutes per game at Miami but still contributed 12.2 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game.

After sitting out this season, Haley Cavinder will be joining the Horned Frogs for the 2024-25 basketball season. She’s joining a program filled with NIL stars, too. Former Oregon star Sedona Prince is playing with the Horned Frogs and still has another year of eligibility.

The Cavinders Twins have been a force in the space since the jump of the NIL Era in July 2021. Before they announced their departure from college sports this spring, they had signed with brands like Raising Cane’s, Victoria’s Secret PINK and Champs Sports.
