Hurricanes Commit Juan Minaya Receives A In-Home-Visit By The Miami Coach Staff, Talk Recruitment

Miami 2024 OL commit Juan Minaya breaks down his recent in-home visit with Hurricanes offensive line coach Alex Mirabal.

He told CaneSport that “There’s no one else I would want to play for other than them”

The 6-foot-6, 330-pounder is the No. 814 overall prospect and No. 60 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in New Jersey.

Minaya took his first trip to Coral Gables on March 7 and two weeks later he announced to take an official to Miami back in June.

Minaya talked about the coaching staff at Miami

“The coaches and the culture,” Minaya said. “I feel like a place doesn’t make a home; it’s the people inside. I just know when I go to Miami they are going to coach the third string just like how they would coach the first string. The people just felt like home.”

Miami’s coaching staff was not pushing Minaya to commit leading up to the decision, but the staff was ready when the three-star lineman made his decision. He also said he plans to shut down his recruitment, telling CaneSport: “I’m a Hurricane. Once you make a decision, you stick to it.”

“I feel like when you know, you know,” Minaya said. “I’m ready to be a Hurricane and ball out my senior year.”
