Is the Future QB for The U on Display the next few Weeks?

Internet rumors are slowly starting to fester again this week at the next Miami Hurricanes QB could be on display for Texas over the next couple weeks. Texas starting QB, Quinn Ewers is out with injury and backup, Maalik Murphy will be the signal caller.

Maalik Murphy was a five star out of California in the 2022 class who had an offer from Miami. Murphy, did have a strong relationship with former OC, Rhett Lashlee who is now head coach at SMU so the interest from Murphy to Miami may not be what it once was. However, social media sleuths on various platforms have speculated than an off-season transfer of Murphy is coming and that Miami is one of the 2 or 3 destinations that are highly likely for Murphy, with a couple projecting he will be a Hurricane.

Quinn Ewers will likely enter the NFL draft but the consensus though process is that Texas will turn the reigns over to Arch Manning for 2024 leaving Murphy without a starting role again. Murphy is built like Cam Newton but considered much more of a pocket passer.

We are a long way off from the portal season and also current UM quarterback Tyler Van Dyke can return for another year and true freshman Emory Williams did pickup a win over Clemson on Saturday night which is rare in its own right for any program. Miami will for sure be active in the portal and probably at the QB position and for fans wanting to take a look at a possible addition to the QB room in Coral Gables, check out Texas over the next 2-4 weeks and see what Murphy has to offer. He did receive HIGH PRAISE from national scouts who were in Texas during spring ball.

  1. God willing Van Dyke takes his lead feet fat rear end to the NFL. He will make an outstanding scout team QB!
