It’s time to start talking even more about Norchad Omier

Yes ,even after the loss to Florida State we need to be talking about how much Norchad Omier does for this team.

Norchad Omier is currently putting together an All-American caliber season. And it feels like we’re not talking about it enough.

The fifth-year beast dropped in 15 points during Miami’s 84-75 loss over Florida State on Wednesday night. He shot 8-12 from the field, 4-5 from distance, and 7-12 from the line. Omier is scoring better from both inside and beyond the arc than he ever has in his college career.

In 2022, Omier had a breakout year, averaging a double-double with 13.1 points and ten rebounds. His performance garnered some NBA attention, but ultimately, Omier chose to remain with the Hurricanes for another year. NBA scouts offered their critiques on how he could improve his game.

Omier has improved his numbers from last year, leading the team in points (17.3) and rebounds (9.3). He also scored his 1,500th career point mark in the second half against North Florida. Omier is one of three active Division I players to record 1,500 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. He ranks 15th in the nation with six doubles on the year.
