Javante Mackey Receives Offer from Miami Hurricanes Football Program

Miami Hurricane’s Football program isn’t afraid to mine the Group of 5 for talent, and they believe they found a good one in Javante Mackey.

When it comes to how major college football programs approach the transfer portal, there are a couple of different ways to utilize it. You can use it to plug in holes on your depth chart, or add to what you already have at certain positions. It appears that Mario Cristobal and Miami Hurricane’s coaching staff are doing the latter with this latest public offer, as Arkansas State linebacker Javante Mackey took to X on Monday afternoon to let everyone know that the Hurricanes are interested.

In 2023, Mackey finished second on the team in total tackles with 82, which included 7 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also added a pass deflection and fumble recovery to boot. Mackey has three years of eligibility remaining due to the fact that he redshirted in 2022.
