Kamren Kinchens named to Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List

We did it. We finally made it to trophy watch list season, which means football is right around the corner. One of the first Hurricanes to be recognized on a trophy watch list this year is Miami Hurricanes football Safety Kamren Kinchens, who was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is given to the nation’s top defensive player. 94 players were named to this year’s watch list. Kinchens has been a starter for Miami since his freshman season.

Kinchens is a junior from Miami, Florida, he was named preseason First-Team All-American after racking up the 2022 season with 59 tackles and led the ACC with six interceptions. After some inconsistent play in the first half of the 2022 season, Kinchens took his play to another level in the second half of the year. His best game was against Georgia Tech as he totaled eight tackles and three interceptions—returning one pick 99 yards for a touchdown. The next week, Kinchens totaled 13 tackles against Clemson.
