Kiko Maugioa selected for Butkus Award Watch List
Miami senior Francisco Mauigoa has been selected to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Butkus Award, marking the commencement of his journey toward being recognized as the nation’s top linebacker.
This esteemed list comprises 51 student-athletes from 44 diverse programs nationwide.
A standout performer in the 2023 All-ACC Second Team, Mauigoa achieved a personal best with 82 tackles for loss and 18 sacks in his inaugural season with the Miami Hurricanes.
Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 230 pounds, Mauigoa emerged as a dominant force, recording the most sacks for the Hurricanes in the previous season.
This preseason accolade marks Mauigoa’s fourth, following his previous recognitions on the watch lists for the Bednarik Award, Nagurski Trophy, and inclusion in the Preseason All-ACC Team.
