Mantrez Walker Says ´Everything Was Great´ Coming Right Off Of A Visit To Miami

Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes coaching staff has just wrapped up their visit with a gem at linebacker Mantrez Walker.

¨Everything was great¨ said Walker after coming off of the visit to Miami.

The 6-foot, 215-pound prospect recently wrapped his junior season at Buford High School, Walker had 54 total tackles and four TFLs this past fall, per MaxPreps.

If you keep up with recruiting you know the Hurricanes coaching staff has targeted Buford High School this past month, by sending out tons of offers to some of their top players.

Cristobal and company have shown no issues attracting top talent, as they wrapped up their 2024 class with the class being inside the top 5. They have also made some major strides with recruits in the 2025 class.

Walker has visited LSU, Tennessee, Penn State, Arkansas, Colorado, Ole Miss and South Carolina, and he’s in weekly contact with every school on his list.

During his time at Coral Gables the Hurricanes coaching staff were trying to get as much as his attention as they can, coach Derek Nicholson and coach Mario spent the most time with him on the visit.

Miami is very thin at the linebacker position so adding him will add competition and depth at the linebacker position.
