Mario Cristobal working hard to flip 4-star RB Jordan Lyle Ohio State commit

Mario Cristobal does not give up in recruiting, even when a Miami target verbally commits elsewhere.

4-Star St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle, an Ohio State verbal commit, has made three game day visits to The U this season. He also has current and former STA teammates in his ear, encouraging him to stay home in South Florida. Lyle also is “probably” going to be scheduling a visit to Miami in December.

He told a source that his recruitment is “honestly up in the air right now” which means Miami is still up in his mind and still pushing.

If Lyle does end up flipping from the Buckeyes, he would join fellow 4-Star Kevin Riley and 3-Star Chris Wheatley-Humphrey among committed running backs in Miami’s class. This would give Miami arguably their best running back class in program history. Lyle and Riley are similar, but we’ve learned you can never have too many talented running backs on your roster these days.

Last year, Miami ended up landing Mark Fletcher after he was formerly committed to Ohio State. Can they do it again with Lyle?

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Lyle is considered the 320th-best player and 27th-best running back in the 2024 cycle.
