Miami baseball commit Michael Torres on why he chose the Hurricanes and why he stayed home

CanesToday got caught up with 2024 fielder Michael Torres which committed to Miami on Monday afternoon.

Here is why he chose the Hurricanes:

“Biggest reason is because it’s a dream come true to be a hometown kid and being able to play at Miami in front of my family and friends, which is an awesome feeling.” said Torres.

Torres is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound outfielder that hit .365 and added four home runs and 21 stolen bases.

He is an all-around ballplayer, Torres was a standout in the field and on the mound at the state power Doral Academy.

With the addition to Torres he will be the No. 19 player in the class of 2024 that the Hurricane have gotten as they continue to build.
