Miami Contacts Dayton Transfer Koby Brea

Koby Brea shot 49.8% from 3-point range for Dayton last season, which ranked first among all Divison I college basketball players in 2023-24 Miami has reportedly reached out to Brea after he entered the transfer portal.

Brea has reportedly heard from Kansas, UConn, Duke, Indiana, Arkansas, Louisville, Oregon, Penn State, Mississippi State, Miami, Illinois, Texas Tech, Arizona, Texas A&M, Xavier, St. John’s and Virginia Tech, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw.

A 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard, Brea averaged a career-high 11.1 points and 3.8 rebouds per game as a senior in 2023-24. The vast majority of his scoring came from beyond the arc, as he attempted 201 3-pointers compared to just 45 2-pointers and 16 free throws all season. 

Brea played 29.1 minutes per game for Dayton in 2023-24, but he came off the bench in 29-of-33 games. He had that role throughout his Dayton career, starting 21 total games across four seasons yet playing 23.9 minutes per game in 113 total appearances. That production off the bench led to Brea being named Atlantic 10 Sixth Man of the Year twice, first in 2021-22 and again in 2023-24.

Brea shot 43.4% from 3-point range across 516 total attempts in his four-year career, including two seasons at 42% or higher. His worst percentage came as a freshman, 35.5%, though that was a much smaller sample size at 31 attempts. As a junior in 2022-23, he shot 37% on 135 attempts. According to reports.
