Miami DL Jamil Burroughs Enters Transfer Portal

Miami defensive lineman Jamil Burroughs will not be a part of the program moving forward, Matt Zenitz and Gaby Urrutia report. Burroughs transferred from Alabama to Miami in June, making him ineligible to play this fall. The 6-foot-3, 309-pounder worked on the scout team throughout the season and was expected to compete along the defensive line in 2024. But, it has been reported that he has just entered the transfer portal.

Burroughs recorded four tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack for the Crimson Tide in 2022.

“He is a defensive lineman and has some good film,” Mario Cristobal said in September. “I know enough of the back story, the people and the place to feel comfortable to present an opportunity and take it from there.”
