Miami football makes top 5 for 2024 DT T.A. Cunningham
Four-star defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham out of Miami ( FL ) Central High narrowed his list to only five schools left with the Hurricanes in the drivers seat on Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-5, 265 pounder is down to Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Michigan, and will announce his college decision on July 22nd.
He is the nation’s No. 257 player overall, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, the No. 28 defensive lineman, and the No. 36 senior-to-be in the Sunshine State. The Hurricanes lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Although Cunningham has been playing primarily defensive end at the prep level , he said that many schools see him as a flex player, i.e. one that can move inside during obvious passing downs and get after the quarterback, while also begin a traditional defensive end during first and 10 situations.
Ironically, that’s something that came up with his most recent visit to the University of Miami when he met with the Hurricanes coaching staff. The Canes see Cunningham as one that can move to multiple positions and make an impact in different ways.
