Miami Football moves up one spot in the new AP Top 25

When Miami football kicks off against Georgia Tech this week the Hurricanes will come in ranked as the No. 17 ranked team in the country.

On Sunday afternoon, the Week 6 Associated Press Poll was updated to reflect this weekend’s results. The Hurricanes were on a bye week, last week and even though they didn’t play, Miami still managed to move up one spot in the AP Poll.

Miami earned 589 points in the Associated Press top 25 to move up one spot following their bye week. Losses by Duke and Utah allowed the Miami football team to move up to 17th. Duke dropped two places in the AP Top 25 following a 21-14 loss to Notre Dame. Utah dropped eight spots after a 21-7 defeat at Oregon State.

The Week 6 Coaches Poll was released an hour prior to the AP Poll. Miami was bumped up one spots to No. 17 in the nation in the latest coaches update. You can view the entire Week 6 AP Poll below.
