Miami football set for ACC media event

With the ACC Football season kicking off in 42 days and counting, the official start of ACC football takes place next week in Charlotte, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each teams head coach and select players will take the podium to preview the upcoming season.

Miami Hurricanes coach / student athlete interviews will take place on day one of the event, Tuesday, July 25th. Mario Cristobal will field questions on how the Hurricanes will improve in year two. Three Hurricane players will join coach Cristobal: Kam Kinchens (DB), Matt Lee (OL) and the captain on this team Tyler Van Dyke (QB).

Kamren Kinchens, a junior from Miami, Florida, was named preseason First-Team All-American after racking up the 2022 season with 59 tackles and led the ACC with six interceptions. After some inconsistent play in the first half of the 2022 season, Kinchens took his play to another level in the second half of the year. His best game was against Georgia Tech as he totaled eight tackles and three interceptions—returning one pick 99 yards for a touchdown. The next week, Kinchens totaled 13 tackles against Clemson.

Matt Lee, a redshirt senior from Oviedo, Florida, and earned third-team All-AAC Honors from PFF at UCF and was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List for the best center in the nation. As the third-highest-graded center nationally in 2022. PFF graded Lee with a 90.6 pass-blocking grade and an 80.6 run-blocking grade.

Tyler Van Dyke, a junior from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Van Dyke was named the 2021 ACC Offensive Freshman of the Year and ACC Freshman of the Year. Van Dyke has thrown for 4,766 yards with 35 touchdowns and 11 interceptions during his Miami career.
