Miami and Mario Cristobal added a massive body to Jason Taylor and Joe Salavea’s defensive line room.

The Class of 2020 four-star recruit played in 11 games for the Tide last season and finished the year with eight tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. It came after he played in nine total games in 2020 and ’21, recorded combined totals of seven tackles and a sack those two seasons.

The Georgia native entered the NCAA transfer portal June 30.

“Jamil Burroughs is one of the best pass rushers in the nation,” Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker said of Burroughs this spring. “… Jamil is so quick and he’s very smart as well.”

Burroughs ranked as the 37th-best defensive lineman and 317th-best overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was at one point committed to Georgia but decommitted after a year and ultimately landed at Alabama.
