Miami Hurricanes Football Recruiting: Hurricanes starting to pick up some steam on four-star Defensive tackle Davion Dixson

Hurricanes is pushing and talking to flip four-star defensive tackle Davion Dixon, he said ” They communicate with my everyday.” He is verbally committed to the University of Notre Dame.

The 6’3” 290 pounder from Miami, Florida, chose the Irish over an impressive offer list that included the Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions, and others. Considering that he is still a high school sophomore right now — the early recruitment by big-time power five programs says a lot about how Dixon may develop over the next two seasons of high school football.

The big man is rated as the 37th defensive lineman and 353nd overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite.

Adding this kind of size and power profile is important, but Dixon is also a disruptive young defender. He registered 10.5 sacks as a sophomore for Belen Jesuit, showing impressive initial quickness and nimble footwork for such a young, massive prospect. Dixon is also credited with an absurd 33 tackles for loss, which shows his disruptive potential.

With Jason Taylor as defensive line coach I would not count Dixson out on Miami. It always seems like now all the defensive linemen prospects are now all considering the Hurricanes despite missing out on Kamarion Franklin. And Miami has one verbal commit in the 2025 class.
