four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin puts the Hurricanes in his top 5

Franklin is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 7 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 website, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.

He attends Lake Cormorant High School in Lake Cormorant, Miss. He’s listed as 6-foot-5, 265 pounds. Franklin broke Lake Cormorant’s single-season sacks record with 19 sacks last season. He also had 93 tackles, with nine of those tackles begin for a loss, 27 quarterback hits and 48 quarterback pressure in 11 games.

Among the remaining contenders including Miami are Florida State, Ole Miss and Auburn

Franklin came down on a visit today and is staying till June 2-4, hopefully on this visit Miami can pull away with his recruitment with other schools and land a commitment from Franklin.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Volunteers are leading for Franklin’s commitment at 76.8%. Tennessee’s odds for the 6-foot-5 265-pound recruit rose greatly following an expert prediction from On3’s Sam Spiegelman. But we will see where his recruitment goes after spending the week in Coral Gables and see if Miami can steal Franklin from the Volunteers.
