Miami Hurricanes News: Jason Taylor recruiting drawing comparison to Coach Hartline

The nations top recruiter the last few years is widely considered Ohio State WR coach Brian Hartline. The former Miami Dolphin has recruited and coached Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave to name a few. Any five star WR in the nation seems to have Ohio State in their top five nationally when their final list is revealed.

The Miami Hurricanes could soon see themself reap the benefits of a top recruiter at a position with defensive line coach, Jason Taylor. Like Hartline, ae former Miami Dolphin, Taylor is drawing comparisons early in his career to having a recruiting success like Hartline. Taylor had a hall of fame career for the Dolphins and seems to be involved with every five star defensive lineman, no more evident than this weekend with five star Kamarion Franklin visiting Miami for the second time in less than a month for Legends camp.

Taylor is considered to be one of the best developers of talent along the defensive line and has already coached many elite defensive players during his time at St. Thomas Aquinas. During his tenure there, Taylor coached and developed many division one players, some the likes of Avery Huff, Al Blades Jr, Tyreak Sapp and Derek Wingo.

With Mario Cristobal returning home the number one job of his is to keep the talent in South Florida playing for the Hurricanes. It seems that with Jason Taylor on staff that we will be in the mix with all top defensive players from South Florida as well as any premier defensive lineman throughout the nation. I wouldn’t be surprised to retain Taylor, he is sooner rather than later named associate defensive coordinator for the Canes and the predecessor at defensive coordinator when Lancy Guidry is finished.
