Miami Hurricanes News: JUCO cornerback Demetrius Freeney commits to the Hurricanes

Yesterday afternoon the Hurricanes, got a commit coming out of San Leandro, California

He decided to commit to the Hurricanes over, Colorado, Indiana, Houston, Oklahoma and Louisville. But there was really no competition for the Hurricanes, Miami really did stood out to him.

Freeney stands 6-foot-1 and weights 185 pounds. He flashes in press coverage while also playing off and displays good awareness in zone. in his Hudl highlights, Freeney showed his ability to pass off his man in coverage and keep his eyes on the quarterback. That ability translated to an interception return for a touchdown.

With his season with College of San Mateo University he racked up, 10 tackles, two interceptions, one pick-six and one fumble recovery for San Mateo last season. Freeney also joins wide receiver Shemar Kirk as the second junior college transfer.
