Miami Hurricanes News: Miami flips West Virginia commit Romanas ” OJ ” Frederique

2024 cornerback Romanas ” OJ ” Frederique flipped his commitment from West Virginia to Miami. Frederique is listed at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, and is a three-star recruit. He commited to Miami over West Virginia, FSU, Temple, and UCF among others. He attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Frederique is a Deerfield Beach transfer who initially committed to the Mountaineers in the middle of June. The Canes coaching staff had a chance to witness Frederique’s skills firsthand at a recent camp, which led to the offer and a verbal commit from him.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings ” OJ ” is the No. 1005 player in the class of 2024, he is also the No. 82 player in his position group and the No. 134 player in the state of Florida.

Despite his weight, Frederiqe does employ some respectable upper body strength, and can play up on receivers at the line in order to disrupt the early stages of their routes.
