Melendez also said this about Mario Cristobal and the coaching staff recruiting him.” they did everything right, and all I can say is I love it.”

Melendez is the No. 23 linebacker and 189th overall prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. And on the Rivals rankings he’s rated as the 2nd best linebacker in the country.

Offers for Melendez, beyond Miami, include Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and many others. And he just got a offer from Oregon yesterday but on X he said he is still locked in with Miami.

The Hurricanes 2025 class also got quarterback Luke Nickel and wide receiver Waden Charles. All three of these young men are highly coveted and talented prospects.
