Miami makes the cut for highly touted defender

2025 Four-star Greene Central ( North Carolina ) defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell included the Hurricanes in his top 10 on Sunday evening. Alabama, Clemson, Duke, LSU, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Penn State were also included in his top 10.

Campbell is considered to be a consensus four-star player across every major recruiting platform. The North Carolina standout ranks highest by 247Sports, sitting as the No. 80 overall player and No. 8 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class.

Campbell has not visited Coral Gables but is looking to get him up to Hard Rock in the fall for a game and show him that Jason Taylor defensive lineman. He got offered by Miami back in late June. If Miami could eventually convince Campbell to move out of his home state, it would be a significant pickup for the Hurricanes as they try to bolster their future talent level along defensive lineman.

As a sophomore, Campbell was a dominant force for the Greene Central Rams. He totaled 61 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and five sacks. Campbell also had three quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two blocked field goals. Campbell is a 6-foot-5, 250-pound, defensive lineman. He also helped the Rams finish the 2022 season 10-2 with a loss to Nash Central in the second round of the NCHSAA 2A state playoffs.

There are currently no crystal ball projections for Campbell at this time but North Carolina is a 27.4% to land him per On3 but it such a close tight you will not know where he is going to commit. Campbell is effective as a defensive tackle or as a defensive end. Wherever you line him up he can get the job done.
