Miami making a huge step in Alvin Henderson recruitment

Alvin Henderson took his first official visit to Miami over the weekend and the Hurricanes made a major move for one of the top running backs in the 2025 class.

Henderson opens up about his interest in Miami, contact with the staff, his October visit to the school, and when he’ll return.

Henderson plays high school football for Elba High School in Elba, Alabama. The four-star is considered the No. 74 recruit in the class of 2025. Henderson is the No. 6 recruit at his position and the No. 9 recruit in Alabama, per 247Sports.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back recently released his top 10 schools with Miami, Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee, USC, and Penn State as his top 10 schools.

Alvin Henderson is currently favored to commit to the Auburn Tigers, but it is still very early in his recruitment. This summer, Henderson checked out the campuses at Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, and Florida State. And has recently visited Miami over the past weekend and it went very good in Miami’s favor.

Miami football is looking strong to start the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Hurricanes and running backs coach Tim Harris has lots of success with running backs in the past year at Miami.

Henderson is ready to commit when he is ready

“I could commit at any time to be honest,” Henderson said. “I don’t think it is close, but I am just taking it day by day. My relationships are still growing with these schools. My connections with Miami, Georgia, Florida State and Auburn are different because I have been around those programs more, but I still have my options open.

“I am not going to rush things. Now that I have my top 10, I will see what coaches want to build relationships, who wants to get me on campus and who wants to help. As I go through the season, I will take it slow, but by this time next year, I will be committed.”
