Miami Signee Jalil Bethea Enters Naismith Award Watch List

Archbishop Wood High School’s basketball prodigy, Jalil Bethea, has been making significant waves in the national high school basketball scene.

In a recent announcement, Bethea was named among the top 25 players on the prestigious Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Player of the Year midseason watch list.

This recognition is bestowed upon the nation’s most outstanding boys’ basketball players who demonstrate exceptional on-court success.

Bethea, a senior at Archbishop Wood, has been turning heads with his impressive performances.  

Committed to playing college basketball at the University of Miami, Bethea is currently ranked 7th nationally. His remarkable average of 23.2 points, 3.9 assists, and 7.6 rebounds last season earned him the PCL MVP title. Continuing his stellar performance, he has averaged 22.6 points in the current season for the Vikings.

Bethea’s talent shone brightly at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., where he scored an impressive 40 points against Corona Centennial (Calif.) in front of national talent and NBA scouts.
