Miami still battling Florida State for Seminoles 5-star DL commit Armondo Blount, Miami’s coaching  staff makes another in-home-visit with Blount

It is never over let me tell you, Miami’s coaching staff is not giving up on 5-star once a Miami commit Armondo Blount, that now is a Seminole, Miami has just know visited Blount twice in the last week, this coaching staff is truly something special and will never give up on a recruit till the end of signing day.

Blount has just been visited by hall of famer Jason Taylor and Mario Cristobal, with a in home visit, Miami is “balling” in the recruiting trail.

Blount was committed to Miami before the 2023 season started and Blount a couple Months back he flipped his commitment to FSU, now Miami is trying to get him back.

Blount, a junior at powerhouse Miami Central High School, is the top-rated player in the state of Florida and No. 5 player in the country for the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247 Sports Composite.

“Their culture as a team and the bond they have as a team. They have a major bond and their players play with aggression and they’re keeping South Florida kids,” Blount told a source.

Prior to transferring to Miami Central, Blount was a defensive menace at Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale for three years after making the varsity squad as an eighth grader. He racked up 29 sacks for the Panthers and was twice named a MaxPreps All-American in his classification.

One of the key factors in securing Blount’s commitment was the genuine and lasting relationship that the Miami coaching staff developed with him and his family over several years. Blount and his family visited the campus on multiple occasions, fostering a strong bond that ultimately tipped the scales in Miami’s favor.

Armondo Blount’s football journey has been nothing short of impressive. Even before transferring to Miami Central ahead of the 2023 season, Blount’s sophomore year in 2022 earned him the prestigious title of a MaxPreps Sophomore All-America selection at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High School. During this remarkable sophomore season, he amassed an astounding 30 tackles for loss and 16 sacks in just 11 games, a performance that propelled the Fort Lauderdale Dillard program deep into Florida’s 3M playoffs. His freshman year in 2021 was equally impressive, with Blount earning MaxPreps Freshman All-American honors, thanks in large part to his 13 sacks. His journey also included valuable experience alongside Miami DL signee Nyjalik Kelly during his time as an eighth-grader in 2020, when he competed on the varsity team at Fort Lauderdale Dillard.

Blount brings a unique set of skills to the Hurricanes. He’s known for being a twitched-up defensive lineman with elite shot put abilities, having been crowned Florida’s 3A state champion as a freshman and even earning the title of an AAU Junior Olympian. On the football field, Blount is a force to be reckoned with. His initial get-off and adept handwork allow him to win battles against offensive linemen, making him equally effective as both a 5 and 4i technique player. While he’s expected to settle in as an interior player at the college level, Blount has showcased his versatility by demonstrating the ability to rush from the edge and excel in 1-on-1 situations on the perimeter.

He was in attendance for UM’s recent upset of Texas A&M at Hard Rock Stadium and was really impressed by the team’s defensive unit and the culture surrounding the program.

“The defense was dominant. I’m mainly focusing on the defense when I’m watching, but the culture of the team, when the offense or defense makes plays, the whole team gets excited. I seen a lot of that,” Blount said of the performance.
